A Message From Our Founder

Dear Clients and Families,

My name is Islande Delva-Salomon, founder of A Place of Heart LLC. Among the many titles I hold, this one is the most meaningful. I am a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and a nursing student preparing to become a nurse.

Throughout my career, I have worked extensively with older adults in nursing homes and through in-home care services. Through these experiences, I have seen firsthand the physical, emotional, and cultural needs of aging individuals—and the peace of mind families seek when placing their loved ones in care.

I understand how overwhelming it can be to care for a loved one. Many families consider nursing homes in the United States, believing it is the only option. Having worked in these facilities, I have witnessed conditions that are often deeply troubling due to understaffing and delayed care.

These experiences revealed a strong need within the Haitian diaspora for dignified, compassionate, and reliable care in Haiti. Our secure facility offers a calm, welcoming environment where residents are treated with respect and attentive care.

There is a better option. That option is A Place of Heart LLC, located in Thomond, in Haiti’s Central Department—where loved ones are safe, cared for by trained staff, enjoy warm, nutritious meals, and feel truly at home.
